Syria: 9 years ago, Assad's Air Force choppers dropped 2 barrel bombs on Sukari district (E. Aleppo-city). Multiple residential buildings were destroyed. When people gathered to help survivors, a 3rd barrel bomb hit them. Aftermath: at least 27 civilians & children killed.

On 24 February 2022 he ordered the missile bombardment of Kyiv in a speech promising a swift resolution to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.
On 30 May 2023 he is reassuring Russian citizens that Ukraine's drone bombardment of Moscow is nothing to worry about.

Putin hasn't commented on much recently but the unprecedented drone attacks near Moscow seem to have tipped the scales so he made an appearance — and brushed the attacks off by saying the air-defense systems worked adequately "but there is work to be done"

In his AL speech, Assad explains why he's sitting on the proverbial Iranian "lap". Translation: Syria's past, present & future is Arab. Being Arab means belonging to Arabism. Arabism is not defined by what lap you sit on, laps r temporary, they come & go, but Arabism is forever.

"The initiative would initially involve about 1,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan with the hope that their voluntary return would be monitored by UN agencies to ensure they were properly treated."

The lesson from Assad & Iran here: if you create enough serious problems that genuinely annoy your neighbors and regional powers, sooner or later, they will come to the negotiations table and make a deal with you.

Went down a rabbit hole and found out that the co-founder of Gypsy Kings is a guy called Jalloul Bouchikhi who's originally Moroccan.
His brother, Ahmed Bouchiki, was assassinated in 1973 by Mossad agents in Norway. Bouchikhi, a waiter, had been mistaken for Ali Hassan Salameh.

Yesterday I wrote about Lebanon’s army cracking down on Syrians & deporting dozens in weeks, including a defector whose life was at stake.
The amount of hate I got simply for putting this info out, truly depressing.
Very concerned about this latest wave of anti-Syrian rhetoric.
