Women declining senior roles for family reasons in their thirties and forties would not be such a problem if we had a society which saw women as still worthy of leadership roles in their fifties and sixties.

I wish more fathers would consider making the decision has made. I wouldn’t take on such a big job, nor would I support my husband to do so, while our children are young. We wouldn’t be able to be the kind parents we have committed to be.

I don’t give a fuck who wins tonight. Because it’s my baby sister’s wedding day and nothing is going to mess with this high. I won’t be checking any polls until the morning. I’ll be dancing and watching two people so in love.

Given the horrifying attack on women’s liberty in Alabama and Georgia, I thought I would repost this article about my own abortion & how I talked about it on radio while on a panel with an Archbishop.

Anyone who supports foetal heartbeat legislation needs to understand that they are condemning women - particularly young, poor, vulnerable women - to either death or jail. I wonder how this sits comfortably with them, unless they hate women, of course.

I’m late to watching on , but both kids are asleep and I have the time now. I am 31 years old and this is the first time I’ve heard a PM candidate speak and thought “I will be proud to have you as PM of this country”. I was undecided, now I’m not.

This article is spectacular. It shows the reality of what women in Australia are up against. Caring work is positively integral to our society. To everyone. It needs to be valued as such.

Stellar piece from in the today. We absolutely unconsciously resent paying women for caring work. We feel it is done for “love” and so feel entitled to it.

For many of my colleagues and friends in early education and care, their superannuation won’t be enough to retire on. As they get older and less able to work, homelessness is a very real and scary prospect.

A privilege to speak to ⁦⁩ about the shameful number of older women living in poverty in our wealthy nation, after lifetimes spent caring for others. Susan’s story is far too common.

Truly the great disappointment of my life is finding that the meritocracy is a sham and an illusion, and that ultimately, prestigious schools are just finishing schools for the mediocre children of the elite and the few truly brilliant people hold the status for everyone

One thing I’ve learned from twitter, and I suspect women know all too well, is that many people aren’t very interested in engaging with the spirit or content of your statements. They just want to use them as a scaffold to say what they want.

I really hate a twitter pile-on; leave alone and stop misconstruing her message. And if you call yourself a feminist, how can you not also support her basic message about women deserving to be paid? Here’s why you should:
