    Reports of supermarkets reopening after a week in Kyiv 🥖 🥛 💧

    I can’t tell you what is happening where there is fighting but my local supermarket has reopened after being closed for a week. Only a small queue. Importantly it has had deliveries including bread and milk!

    The number of refugees has nearly reached 700k, this number is only set to rise rapidly with the threat to target Kiev

    ~ 660,000 refugees have now fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries in the last 6 days. The situation looks set to become Europe’s largest refugee crisis this century, and we have reinforced our operations to respond as quickly and effectively as possible.

    The numbers of those fleeing Ukraine 🇺🇦 has now risen to half a million, this number will keep rising in the days to come.

    More than 500,000 refugees have now fled from Ukraine into neighbouring countries.

    EU announces it has agreed unanimously amongst all member countries to take in Ukrainian refugees fir up to 3 years without asking them to first apply for asylum. Just been announced following a meeting of EU Interior ministers

    2/2: The mayor had earlier presided over a meeting of local security and municipal officials where they discussed contingency plans for civil defence if war comes. Bomb shelters, how to communicate if telecoms are taken out etc. So, Odessa is getting ready.
