    I just bought my ticket! Excited to hear keynotes by and as well as see the cRaggy graphics show-and-tell. ❤️ it is affordable, $40 GA and only $10 for students, including lunch!

    Got stupidly excited this morning when I realized I'll get counted in the New Zealand Census this year! I think this means I probably picked the right field for me.

    This is a great point. The best way to see if someone can solve a problem with data, is to ask them to solve a problem with data, in particular "in their own time and with their own tools", from post on hiring

    I’ve seen this often and can’t help but think about what it means for hiring bias. I don’t know how people can check all the boxes with private repos, 40+ hr work weeks, and children! Are we limiting the field to people with time vs people with the skills?
