Step 1: Setting a Static Front Page and Adding Featured Content
The first step is to create two brand new pages: a static front page and a blog page. The front page will be your site’s homepage. The blog page is where all of your blog posts and articles will be posted in reverse chronological order.
Publish two new pages and name them “Home” and “Blog”.
You can easily feature your most important pages or blog posts on your home page using the Featured Content option. The demo site uses the Mosaic option to display Featured Content, but you can also use a Slider or Full Screen mode depending on the look you want to achieve. Here’s how you add Featured Content to your site’s home page:
Publish the posts or pages you want to feature. Make sure you add Featured Images (the ideal size is 1024 pixels by 768 pixels) to each post or page so that the image will be displayed as part of the Featured Content design.
Enter a tag in the Tag Name field — “featured” is a good one to use, or choose another that’s easy for you to remember. Click Save & Publish.
Edit your posts and/or pages that you will be featuring to add your chosen tag. Tags can be found in the editor on the left sidebar under Categories & Tags. Save your changes.
