My Weekend Recap on Monday...

How can another weekend be behind us already?  My goodness, time is going fast!  I have this week off, so I'm not complaining too much.  I don't go back to my new part-time job until the 26th.  I do admit that I brought home some reading and "homework" if you will.  Names of medications and medical codes for receipts patients can turn in to their insurance companies (we don't accept insurance or Medicare).  Anyway...

Friday morning, Joe and I both had fasting labs (and we see our doctor this morning for the results).  I had brunch with my lunch-bunch girlfriends at Keke's.  Keke's is a high-end breakfast/lunch restaurant that (I think) is way over-priced but we had a great time catching up with each other. My dear friends have all been through some tough hardships in their lives.  One lost her husband to suicide; one has Parkinson's disease; one just had colon cancer surgery a few months ago; one had a liver transplant and survived throat cancer; one of them just lost her mom and a few months ago lost her mother-in-law.  We shed tears with each other and we celebrate love and kids and grandkids. We have been friends for at least 15 years.  God is good.

My breakfast was a Southwest omelet with the trimmings.

It is fun to go to the mailbox this time of year!  It is usually full of advertisements and junk mail, but we get at least three cards a day and I love displaying them on the Merry Mail ribbons!

Saturday morning we got up early enough to go to the Clubhouse for breakfast.  They serve breakfast on Saturday mornings from 7:00 - 9:00.  For $5.00 I had a much better breakfast than the one pictured above that cost (with tip) $18.00.  Seriously!  Sorry, I didn't take a photo but we did sit with five people we hadn't met before and had fun talking with them as we enjoyed breakfast.

Yesterday we went to church and are feeling so comfortable there!  The people are so friendly and two even said they missed us last week!  Wow!  (We went to Helen's church for the Christmas Cantata last week.)  One of the women told me that the women's Bible study is starting soon and the book is for sale in the church's library.  She took me there and introduced me to the woman selling the books. I'm not sure I'll be able to make the Bible study but it is a great devotional and my current devotional will end at the end of the year so I bought one of these.

After church, Joe and I went to Bealls (a Florida department store) because I got birthday money and had two coupons to use for some sneakers.  I actually found a pair of black ones in the men's shoe department (they don't carry my size in women's shoes).  With $20 off and a 25% sale they only cost me $42.00!!  Score!  I'll have to take a picture to share but they are off my feet right now.

After our appointments today, we have to pick up Helen and take her to her doctor for a 1:00 appointment. Hoping our doctor isn't running late (not usually).  Joe and I go in together so the visits usually go fast.

We don't' have a busy week.  The farm (Joe's client) on Wednesday and we both have haircuts on Thursday.  I need to do some cookie baking and candy making.  I also need to clean the house!  Saturday is the HOA's Christmas Pot-luck at the Clubhouse.  I'm taking my usual Jiffy corn casserole and something sweet to share.

How was your weekend?  Thanks for your visit!!

Peace & hugs!!  God bless!!
