GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian youth was killed and three others injured during Israeli airstrikes targeting the southern besieged Gaza district of Rafah on Thursday afternoon.

Medical sources at the European Hospital in Rafah confirmed the death of a Palestinian youth identifying him as Abed al-Karim Radwan, 22, and that three others were injured, one of whom is in critical condition.

Local sources told Ma'an that the killed Palestinian was a member of the Ministry of Interior in Gaza's field control services.

Sources added that three Israeli military bulldozers, accompanied by an engineering mechanism, set up a security fence 50 meters away from the security border fence along the eastern Gaza border.

The security fence was set up as a preparation for expected Friday clashes.
