.@CoryBooker is refusing to even use the word “Occupation” and is sending a clear message to American Jews & the Democratic base — for now, he’s with @AIPAC and will continue the same failed policy approach that’s led to 52 years of Israeli military rule over the Palestinians.

Booker’s close relationship with
@AIPAC is not new, nor is he ashamed of it. In a closed door session at AIPAC’s Conference in March, Booker said that he and AIPAC’s President “text back and forth like teenagers.”https://theintercept.com/2019/03/30/cory-booker-aipac-leaked-recording/ …ಈ ಥ್ರೆಡ್ ತೋರಿಸಿ -
Booker: “I know that that's a question that you've been asking every presidential candidate.” Yes, we’re asking every candidate how they will address the crisis of Occupation. And we won’t stop until we get some real answers, not just
@AIPAC and@DemMaj4Israel talking points.ಈ ಥ್ರೆಡ್ ತೋರಿಸಿ -

Good work, but you need to do your question to Warren again. That was not good work.
-
Agreed--she needs to be pinned down: too many people let her give vague, wishy-washy answers and act like she answers questions. Example: Why didn't she support Bernie?
-
Warren is a not so secret republican who claims to be a democrat & THAT'S one reason why she won't support Bernie Sanders, a man who has long been OF THE PEOPLE!
-
Bernie and Warren are friends. Bernie went to Obama to ask him to let Warren lead CFPB. But her campaign speeches still tout her Republican, military family. & being Republican in Reagan years, staunch support for market, is troubling.

Yes—justice for Palestinians is my issue. I will not vote for you
@CoryBooker -
does justice include the ability to lob rockets at civilians indescriminately?
-
Listen. You can’t collectively punish 2.5 million people because that happens. Israel is stealing land and denying children their human rights with trade blocades. They’ve hobbled any possibility of a functioning economy forcing millions of innocent people into poverty.
-
so were talking about Gaza, right? no one's stealing land in Gaza. Jews were forcibly pulled out of Gaza over a decade ago. Gazans have been forced into poverty? could it possibly be that they are spending all their money on weapons to shoot at civilians?
-
the fact that you can't acknowledge that Hamas is a major obstacle to peace is very telling
-
Israel uses that as an excuse to inflict human right atrocities on an entire population. They’ve created an apartheid state.
-
1. what Israel does outside its borders has nothing to do with apartheid. try again. and if you dont acknowledge that Hamas is a very real threat, then you're basically admitting you dont give a shit about Israeli citizens

Maybe you ignore that international law can't say who occupies who because there was no sovereign state there in 1967, when Israel took Judea and Samaria back? So you're embarrassing yourselves in front of Cory Booker...
-
I’m actually surprised he responded that way. Definitely expected him to pander. No one complained when Jordan kept Judea and Samaria. They never said it was a Palestinian state between 48-67.
-
Worse, 'Palestinians' said they did not want it in their 1964 Charter, when Jordan was their 'occupier'.
-
Exactly. Point is there should be no Palestinian state. If they remain loyal to Israel they should be citizens, which obviously means giving up terrorism and violence. Members of Fatah/PA should be deported.
-
But Israeli is not going to take so many 'loyal' citizens, because loyal or not, they would change the demography of Israel dramatically and make Jewish self-determination impossible again. And Israel's creation was exactly to make it possible.
-
Here's an interesting point of view on the subject.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CylGZGAg4Fg …
-
It's not about the same thing. There are multiple 'one state solutions'. One that includes that many 'Palestinians' is deadly. But one state solutions are not all the same. Jordan could administer the rest, for example.
-
I can imagine, the Arabs would claim 'right of return' and billions of Arabs with no connection to Israel would clamour to be included. Any solution is fraught. I won't present a solution but simply ideas that struck me as reasonable. The decision is Israel's to make.
