Wages are the same as they were in 2007 how is that soaring? Wages declined during financial crisis when we shed 8 million jobs. It's taken 10 years just to regain same wages people lost during those years. Yet cost living 38% higher, rents 48% of income. Re-gains overduepic.twitter.com/p32ZBbpzpX

1/4 before the Great Recession, the average income of the middle 60 percent of American households was $76,443. It would have been $94,310, nearly $18,000 higher had inequality not widened (i.e., had their incomes grown at the overall average rate. Via

Maybe we should stop illegal immigration that floods the low wage labor mkt and suppress wage growth?
-
How exactly do people picking produce for under minimum wage supress wage growth in every other job market?
-
You think illegals come here only to pick fruit? Hotel, restaurant, delivery, construction, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, a whole gamut of industries. Tech mfr:https://www.npr.org/2019/04/03/709680162/ice-raids-texas-technology-company-arrests-280-on-immigration-violations …

Anyone looking at this chart can tell you're full of crap because it doesn't show enough information to properly read this chart. There are no proper dates, sources cited, or other statistics provided to confirm a thing in this chart, or statement. Nice try propaganda touter.
-
Thank you. I was thinking the same thing

No worries. I might be Conservative Republican, but I refuse to hand over this country to traitors without a fight. Unlike the scum in office I haven't sold my soul, & given up on our country, & all it stands for.
-
I have mad respect for you.
-
Well thank you, but it isn't necessary. Though I'll happily accept that respect.

If you're tweeting a graph, link the source. I know it isn't a rule on twitter but it should be.
-
Also, label the axes...the graph as depicted illustrates nothing more than a squiggly line without accurate labeling.

Just curious, but what is the source of that graph? And what exactly is it showing? 1-4% of... what? An increase? 0.5% increase in wage per year is abysmal, if that's the case, and not exactly "soaring".
-
That is real wage growth since 2007. The increase is 3.5% not 0.5% and that is a strong number.
-
Alright. I'd argue that a 3.5% increase in wage over a 12 year period is not a strong number, but maybe we'll disagree there. I assume you would be fine with that increase in your own work situation? Also, I'd still like a source for these numbers to read more about it.
-
That 3.5% is annual growth right now and not the growth since 2007.
-
I actually found a source to this, since no one else seems to be bothered, but according to https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/realer.pdf … it increased 2,2% Feb 2018 - Feb 2019. Not 3.5%. And that's $9.20 per hour > $9.40 per hour, which truly is soaring.
-
That's another $40 each month if you work 8 hours per day, 25 days per month, compared to February 2018.
