בשם כל אזרחי ישראל אני מבקש לשלוח תנחומים מעומק הלב למשפחות הנרצחים בפיגוע הטרור הנפשע היום בהר הבית: שוטרי משטרת ישראל - רס״מ האיל סתאוי ורס״מ כמיל שנאן.

האיל, בן 30 מג׳אר, שירת במג״ב והתגייס לשירות קבע ביחידת הר הבית של מרחב דוד. הוא הותיר אחריו אישה, ילד בן שלושה שבועות, הורים ושלושה אחים.

כמיל, בן 22 מחורפיש, התגייס למשטרה לפני כשבעה חודשים ושירת אף הוא ביחידת הר הבית. הוא הותיר אחריו הורים, אח אחד ושלוש אחיות.

האיל וכמיל נפצעו אנושות במהלך הלחימה במחבלים. הרופאים נלחמו על חייהם בבית החולים, אך לצערנו הרב נאלצו לקבוע את מותם.

זהו יום עצוב בו אחינו בני העדה הדרוזית משלמים את המחיר הכבד ביותר במשימתנו המשותפת להגנה על ביטחון מדינתנו. אני מצדיע להם ולגבורתם. זכרם יהיה נצור בליבנו תמיד.

In the name of every citizen of Israel, I would like to send condolences from the bottom of my heart to the families of those murdered in the terrorist attack today on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – Haiel Sitawe and Kamil Shnaan.

Sitawe, 30, from Maghar, served in the Border Police on the Temple Mount. He leaves behind a wife, a three-week old son, and three brothers.

Shnaan, 22 years old, from Hurfeish, was drafted into the police seven months ago and also served on the Temple Mount. He leaves behind his parents, one brother, and three sisters.

Sitawe and Shnaan were seriously wounded during the fight with the terrorists. The doctors fought to save their lives in the hospital, but the men succumbed to their injuries and died.

This is a sad day for our brothers in the Druze community who are paying the heaviest price in our shared duty to defend the security of Israel. I salute them and their heroism. May their memories be rooted in our hearts forever.
