SVAI is San Francisco based non-profit organizing scientific gatherings that contribute to disease research and help answer challenging problems in life sciences. SVAI’s research focus emerged from our ongoing monthly event series, regularly bringing together engineers and scientists. Our mission is to accelerate biomedicine research and educate through open collaborations in computational life sciences. The SVAI community reaches extensively into the bay area’s AI/ML and biomedicine circles and we maintain strong relationships across industry, academia and startups.
This year, our educational monthly event series covered applications of AI/ML spanning genomics, drug discovery, cardiology and clinical practice, and many other areas. We featured up and coming researchers, new startups and organizations creating unique approaches for computational life sciences. If you have suggestions for topics you'd like to learn more about, please let us know and we'll try to get it on the calendar.
Following our first biomedicine research event in June 2017, we're excited to announce our second open research collaboration focused on papillary renal-cell carcinoma type 1. We will invite 150 computer scientists and biomedicine researchers to join us in San Francisco for an intense weekend of computational biomedicine exploration in March 2018. Applications to attend will open on January 1st 2018.
