Poll: Hillary Clinton Plummets in Crucial Pennsylvania Primary, Lead Falls from 22 to 6 by ginger_bredman in politics

[–]cahaseler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are multiple rounds. If all goes as expected, the delegate counts in the caucus predicts the final results fairly well. That's what you see online. After the first round, Bernie is actually ahead because the Hillary delegates didn't show, meaning he has an advantage in the second round. He could lose that if his delegates don't show up, but after seeing what happened here there's not much chance of that. Once all 3 rounds are done, we will have the final numbers which news sites will probably show.

Don't think I do. Was probably just a blown up version of the above, as it was at the Department of Energy, which runs LLNL.

My old work had a 20 foot poster of this covering a whole wall. Pretty beat stuff.

ELI5: How to use networking to get a job by [deleted] in GetEmployed

[–]cahaseler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my current job through networking. 2 years ago, I was working for M Corp. We had a contract where I ended up working closely with some folks from A, Inc. I made sure they saw me as the expert on the technology we were using, helped them learn it, went above and beyond my requirements, and made sure to keep in touch via linkedin when the contract ended. Two years later, I get a call from the manager at A, Inc. They wanted to hire me for 3x my salary at M Corp because everyone said I was the best guy for it.

Needs as many Thunder themed songs as possible. Should be a little easier to find than the fluffy bunny teams ;)

@OP - don't think username tagging works in titles. You could also PM him.

Actually, either the account with the username in your title has been deleted/banned, or you misspelled it.

Awesome. Will give it a shot. LIFX support gave me a bunch of suggestions that didn't do anything.

How far is too far for a commute? by iamnotseanclark in GetEmployed

[–]cahaseler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found anything more than an hour tends to drain me. At that point I dislike the commute more than anything i could be doing at work which just seems dumb.

I permanently ban plenty of users for spam, suspension would not be the correct term there.

Bernie Sanders Is Exactly Right: The Media Is an Arm of the Ruling Class of This Country by Positive_pressure in politics

[–]cahaseler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would never hate someone for being a Republican. However I do strongly oppose people who express support for removing womens' access to healthcare, cutting social services, and lowering taxes for the rich, all of which are core tenets of the current Republican platform. That means someone identifying themself as a Republican tells me they probably hold some views I find offensive.

Trump just says these things a little more blatantly than most of his party.

Tim Sweeney: "Very disappointing. @Oculus is treating games from sources like Steam and Epic Games as second-class citizens." by muchcharles in pcgaming

[–]cahaseler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia's been pushing that. Loaning "free" developers to publishers to help make games maximally compatible with their proprietary tech at the expense of performance on AMD cards. But they've had a certain amount of pushback so maybe they'll get the message.
