Eminent Israelis write: "The 2 million inhabitants of Gaza are caged in an open-air prison, forcibly isolated from the rest of Palestinian society. These people have every right and reason to protest, yet are shot at with live ammunition when they do so."

Yesterday: there's no occupation. Today: there'll be no state, just autonomy. All "autonomies" in the world involve citizenship for the population. If it doesn't there's only one word for it: apartheid.

Actually , has offices in Lebanon, Jordan & Tunisia, where staff are able to work. Don't know many 'democracies' deporting a rights advocate over their peaceful expression. In fact Israel joins countries like Cuba, Sudan & Venezuela in blocking access to our staff

This sort of fact should make states think very carefully about their selectivity and silent complicity in the erosion of fundamental international norms. When your allies can get away with it, your enemies can too.

It's not for nothing that annexation is strictly prohibited under int'l law: it made our world much safer. In 1816-1948, there were on avg 1.2 conquests per year. Since '48 & consolidation of int'l law post-WW2, only .26 conquests per year. (See )

1. Restricting the movement of Palestinians in the West Bank is one of the main tools that Israel uses to enforce the occupation and control the Palestinian population. Of the many sweeping and arbitrary measures Israel employs, road closures have a particularly broad impact,
