Appreciate I'm probably predictable - but the 2nd Earl of Manchester. Profligate son who accompanied Charles to Spain, then ejected from court and forced to sober up in the country, returned as a pious architect of the rebellion. Overshadowed by his quarrel with Cromwell.

SF/fantasy/supernatural/horror etc media; a favour? Ban "destiny," as both a concept and a word, for a very, very long time? Especially but not exclusively if you're pronouncing it "des'ny?" Please and thank you.

Why don't news organisations feature the results of children's book awards? ? We have endless film/music/TV/drama award coverage. Plus endless - how about something GOOD?

Today I've complained to Little, Brown about publishing transphobic crap and the BBC about pandering to religious extremists on abortion, so I guess it's time to write to my MP again about Brexit for the full "I hate everything and everyone" trifecta.

Remember, Toby Young got into Oxford because Brasenose College sent him an acceptance letter by mistake, and his dad phoned up his mate the admissions tutor to persuade them to honour it. The same dad who invented the term "meritocracy"...

The Irish rebellion is originally over Stuart policy of land redistribution. The decision of Ormond to back Charles II is... peculiar.
