Seems evident now that if Trump is going to fire Rosenstein, and who knows if/when, he’s building a self-serving drama around it first—an attempt to convince the public that what is extraordinary here is not his conduct but rather DOJ’s.

Because I don’t think it’s at all appropriate to trade on the presidency for millions. It seems tawdry. I hated that the Clintons did this. Wanted Obama to be better than that. Disappointed.

My latest piece. US policy needs to do a better job of effectively weighing the long term implications of short term objectives.

Thread. This is all astonishing and I say that fully aware that the word astonishing is rather denuded at this juncture.

This seeks erase a line, let alone cross it. Imagine reaction if either Clinton consulting with Kendall (or Obama w his personal lawyer) and then ordering DOJ to do something related to probe into them

Stating my likely very unpopular opinion: I think it’s inappropriate and tawdry to make zillions off of having been in the White House. Wish Obama would follow the example of Jimmy Carter and other past presidents who didn’t enrich themselves after the presidency. Ick.

The fight for international religious freedom has been a bipartisan commitment for 2 decades. Appointing anti-LGBT activists to the USCRIF is deeply offensive. I ask my Republican friends, how should we respond to religious-based persecution of LGBT people in foreign lands?

Reminder: Trump is a subject of the investigation he will apparently succeed in obtaining evidence in & that no subject is entitled to during a criminal investigation. This is unprecedented.
