4/4 the decision by @fiannafailparty to abolish thorough independent inspections of construction is costing us dearly. The revised system of sign off by architects or engineers brought in by FG/ Lab is a better system but not thorough enough

3/4 to be fair there is also a higher rate of building control failure in @Fingalcoco due in part to a higher rate of building than other areas

2/4 this is due to a no of factors in my view including very poor building control inspections by @Fingalcoco over the years. We’ve seen the effect of this in housing estates affected by Pyrite and Fire Safety defects as well as in schools

Problems first came to light in 2014 - there should have been thorough inspections then of all schools built by Western Building Systems: jrnl.ie/4303701
