Happy birthday to Shirley Chisholm, who would have been 94 yo today. Her life and public service has been an inspiration to generations of leaders, and there is no better way to ensure she continues to inspire generations to come than with this statue.

In the past week, we’ve seen multiple disgusting & horrifying acts of anti-Semitism - acts of hate that are on the rise against the Jewish community and other groups in our City. We’ll never tolerate hate of any kind & we won’t allow this to continue.

It's completely unacceptable that New Yorkers are being denied heat & hot water in their homes during this time of year, especially at the hands of our city. NYCHA has again failed to ensure tenants are living in safe homes. We cannot wait any longer to see real action.

Far too many Transgender Americans fear for their lives just because of who they are. Today, and every day, we honor those we lost to anti-trans violence while supporting the strength and courage of transgender communities in NYC, and throughout the world.

Exposure to lead can be very dangerous & must be taken very seriously. I'm deeply concerned that NYCHA ignored or contested years of results that tested positive for lead - actions that have harmed our children. We need answers & action now.

The effects of human-induced climate change are taking a clear toll on our planet. I've been proud to push for divestments from fossil fuel companies. Please take 2 mins to sign the petition calling for pensions to invest in climate change solutions.

Conditions at NYCHA are unacceptable & tenants deserve better. The deal to fix NYCHA didn’t allow for meaningful community input & didn’t require specific measures to ensure necessary oversight & accountability. We need a plan that will bring real & lasting improvements.
