Today in the Dáil I raised the issue of the ownership and ethos of the new National Maternity Hospital. It is essential that this piece of national infrastructure is owned by the public and has a secular ethos. We cannot hand over €300 million to private interests.

This notion is very disrespectful. The CA, 8th Committee & Referendum facilitated an intense National debate. 2/3 of people voted to liberalise our laws- the result was decisive. It is our duty as legislators to respect the deliberative democratic process & enact the legislation.

Contact your TD () in support of free, safe, legal access to abortion. Tell them waiting periods discriminate against poor, rural, & vulnerable women, & that doctors must refer - information is enshrined in the Constitution (14th amendment)

I have a letter today in the Irish Times explaining why “forcing doctors to provide abortions” is not an accurate representation of the proposed Irish abortion legislation

I still feel disgust when I think of the referendum in 04. It was our worst instincts being whistled at for local and euros elections. opposed at the time even though we knew it was designed to damage us. Being born + raised here does make him Irish IMO 💔
