Governor of Arizona will name retired Arizona to serve out the remainder of McCain’s Senate term. Kyl had been helping SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh by serving as his “Sherpa” at the Senate.

The ad says everything. I have friends who died in Iraq. I know what “everything” means. This isn’t close.

1) I think the idea that Kaepernick sacrificed everything is nonsense. 2) But I’m also against the politicization of everything. 3) So, I refuse to politicize my shoes purchases or my sports viewing. 4) I’ll buy the shoes I like. 5) I’ll watch the NFL. 6) And I’ll be happy.

If they hadn’t invited in the first place, no one in the world would be burning up Twitter saying, “Why isn’t Steve Bannon at the New Yorker event?”

We should write competing pieces and flesh this out. I feel about this the same as I feel about a private university canceling a commencement address by a well-known, controversial figure. Within its rights, but a bad idea.

When 1) there is the presence of online gang-tackling through 2) overwrought rhetoric, I’m comfortable with using the term “outrage mob.” Also, it fits nicely in Twitter character limits.

1) Steve Bannon is reprehensible. 2) The New Yorker knew this. 3) It did not have to invite him. 4) But when it uninvited him, it caved to outrage mobs. 5) The heckler’s veto is more dangerous than Bannon’s presence on that stage.

I think Bannon is a lowlife who has done real harm to the country. The New Yorker was under no obligation to have him there. With that said, disinviting someone because some people throw a tantrum is a terrible precedent. They knew who he was when they first sent the invite.

At this point I suppose we should be thankful that he still views the DOJ as the “Sessions Justice Department.” So long as he refuses to take ownership of this segment of the executive branch, justice still has a chance.

An act of kindness. Twenty-two years ago while I was in college, and his wife found out that I didn't have enough food to eat. I hardly knew them. They bought me bags of groceries and hugged me as I cried - shocked by their kindness. A hero stands tall anywhere.

This is also why having people with different opinions in your board room matters more than having people who look different, but all think the same. This will be a PR disaster for Nike. Insanely dumb.

Random aside, but I think the 2010 midterms are under-appreciated as a seminal event of our political era. There was a 17-point swing from the 2008 popular vote in the House (D +10) to the 2010 vote (R +7). That's huge: the largest swing since WW2.
