    Tory police cuts have already cost London thousands of police officers & staff, most of our police station front counters & police buildings. Cuts have consequences - so it's good to see pledge to put 10,000 extra police on our streets.

    The Violent Crime Taskforce is a new, City-Hall funded, targeted team working hard to make arrests & seize dangerous weapons off the streets in the areas of London with the highest concentrations of knife and other forms of violent crime.

    The causes of violent crime are many years in the making - and the solutions will take time. Our new Violence Reduction Unit will take a public health approach, bringing together specialists from police, health, criminal justice, communities & local govt.
