    Rescue crew from Ballito and Hermanus called to assist in rescues. NSRI are urging bathers, particularly during the Schools Spring Break Vacation to only swim at beaches where lifeguards are on duty.

    Our Hartbeespoort crew assisted 2 Pretoria men on a power boat reporting to be stranded in the Hyacinth on Hartbeespoort Dam when their boat suffered motor mechanical failure.

    12 lives have been saved (8 adults & 4 children) because members of the public quickly grabbed an NSRI Pink Rescue Buoy as flotation and helped someone in trouble. We have placed a total of 275 Pink Rescue Buoys and thanks to our donors we have more to place for summer season.

    It was reported that, while fishing with a friend, a man, believed to be aged 38, from Knysna, slipped on rocks and fell into the sea into the surf and the man’s friend sought help and found a bystander at Noetzie Beach and the alarm was raised.
