Sponsorship sales for the 2017 OCP Summit, to be held March 8 - 9, 2017 in Santa Clara, CA, began two weeks ago and are off to a robust start. So far, one Gold, four Silver, two Bronze, and five Copper sponsorships have been sold, as well as several promotional sponsorships. There are many different sponsorship levels available for the 2017 Summit, ranging in price from $10,000 up to $200,000 for a Platinum level sponsorship, that includes speaking opportunities, up to 35 complimentary event passes, a 20’ X 20’ booth, and extensive marketing exposure before, during and after the event.

We are pleased to announce that registration is now OPEN for the OCP U.S. Summit 2017 to be held on March 8th & 9th at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Please note that this is a different venue from our 2016 and 2015 events which were held in San Jose.

Since its founding in 2011, the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation has experienced some incredible momentum in a relatively short time period. As Facebook was rethinking its infrastructure to accommodate its unprecedented growth and the technology needs to support it, they made the decision to share its designs with the public. The OCP  Foundation was incorporated by Facebook, Intel and Rackspace with Goldman Sachs and Andy Bechtolsheim (joining soon after). These OCP board members sought to create the same collaboration and innovation we see in open source software in the hardware space. And that’s exactly what’s happening.

The OCP Incubation Committee (IC) is made up of dedicated volunteers and thought leaders who are in, near, and around the data center hardware ecosystem. We now have a vacant seat on the IC and will be holding a special election to fill this seat.  This position will be an interim position until the next election in June 2017, when the next regular IC Election is held.

OCP Technology Day at Facebook - Event Summary

On 30 August, 2016, The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation hosted 114 attendees from 70 organizations at the Facebook campus in Menlo Park, CA, including Adobe, AT&T, Bank of America, Canonical, Cisco, Delta Products, Facebook, Fidelity Investments, Google, Microsoft, Orange, Penguin Computing, Panasonic, Pinterest, Radisys, Red Hat, Uber, Verizon, Visa and Walmart. It was a full day interactive session with great community involvement and collaborative discussions.
