On June 2, Cadillac will debut a coffee shop/boutique/art gallery at 330 Hudson Street, just north of Canal Street, called Cadillac House. The facility will not have any cars for sale — you have to go to a proper dealership for a new Caddy. But it will have coffee from Joe, clothing from Timo Weiland, and a rotating art exhibit created by the people behind magazine/creative firm Visionaire.
The cafe area will have an espresso bar with a four-seat counter, plus a high-top table with eight seats, and visitors will also be able to sip coffee in a lounge-like area. As Bloomberg notes, the car company has been trying to align itself with the art and fashion worlds lately. Now it's trying to cozy up to the New York coffee scene. Cadillac's brand director Melody Lee notes: "We have tried to tell people what you’re supposed to feel from the Cadillac brand....But what we hadn’t quite fully established was an environment that you could walk into."
The new shop will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
