CNN’s THE SIXTIES IS #1 in cable news Thursday, May 29 at both 9P and 10P
According to Nielsen Fast National data, CNN’s Original Series THE SIXTIES debuted last night as the No. 1 program on cable news at both 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
At 9:00 pm, the episode, “Television Comes of Age,” averaged 284k in the key demo 25-54, Fox News followed with 273k and MSNBC posted 115k.
In total viewers CNN had 1.390m topping MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show’s 723k. Fox News had 1.919m.
This represents a +190% increase in the demo 25-54 (284k vs. 98k) and a +312% increase in total viewers (1.390m vs. 337k) as compared to prior four-week average.
The encore presentation at 10:00 pm, averaged 243k in the demo, Fox News followed with 239k and MSNBC trailed with 104k.
Among total viewers CNN averaged 946k topping MSNBC’s 532k. Fox News registered 1.428m. FULL POST
CNN’s Nima Elbagir talks to husband of Sudanese woman sentenced to death for Christian beliefs
In his first sit-down interview, Daniel Wani, the American husband of the Sudanese woman sentenced to death for refusing to renounce her Christian faith, tells CNN's Nima Elbagir (@NimaCNN) he will stand by his wife, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, until the end.
“I’m standing by her to end. Whatever she wants, I’ll stand by her,” Wani said.
Ibrahim gave birth to a baby girl earlier this week at a Khartoum prison, where's she's detained with her 20-month-old son.

CNN and Facebook Announce Strategic Partnership for Exclusive Video and Social Media Content to Create Multidimensional User Experience
CNN and Facebook today announced plans to join together for a unique viewer engagement initiative that will extend the experience of the new CNN series, THE SIXTIES, beyond television screens for Facebook users. THE SIXTIES, a 10-part series for television executive produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, and Mark Herzog, explores the events and people that made the 1960s an extraordinary era of change and achievement in pop culture, civil rights, politics, and technology. The enriched social media engagement will include exclusive video and social media content that will create a unique second screen experience for Facebook users.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Facebook to offer such a rich multimedia experience for viewers of THE SIXTIES,” said Andrew Morse, senior vice president of editorial content for CNN/U.S.. “This partnership will drive deeper engagement, and establish a community of viewers, which will explore the content in a variety of ways.”
Features of the unique collaboration will include weekly live Q&A chats with historic figures and the series producers during each episode, weekly viral video content on highlights of the period, and exclusive video produced by CNN Digital Studios illustrating the achievements and events of the remarkable decade. My understanding is the president found the findings of the interim report deeply troubling. He has already urged the V.A. To move out now on making sure that veterans have the access and care that they need, not to wait for the findings of interim reports or final reports.”

Valerie Plame: "...there's too many stupid things that are happening."
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer spoke with former CIA agent, and author of "Blowback", Valerie Plame about the disclosure of the CIA station chief.
In the interview, Plame said to Wolf, "Right now, I think there's serious reforms that need to be put into place across the board, starting at the director of National Intelligence, there's too many stupid things that are happening."

Digital video series “City of Tomorrow” highlights urban innovation
Cities all around the world are coming up with groundbreaking ways to combat issues plaguing their surroundings, such as crime, traffic and the excess of greenhouse gases. To highlight the innovation of these cities and offer a glimpse into futuristic solutions for others to adopt, CNN Digital launched an 8-week futuristic video series today called City of Tomorrow. The series includes videos, text, photos and other interactive features, and will conclude with a 30-minute CNN TV special airing on Saturday, July 19.
Some of the inventive ideas covered in City of Tomorrow include sophisticated CIA software used by Los Angeles police that wrangles huge amounts of data to fight crime; the “world’s greenest commercial building” in Seattle; and experimental cities in Japan and the Middle East that offer a peek into future lifestyles.
