Will oak-run offline compact restart?

One of the application teams was running an TarMK offline compact over the weekend (Oak 1.2.7) from a VPN connection that timed out.  They then restarted it.  That got me to wondering. Does anyone know if the offline compact supports restarting from where it left off in the event it gets stopped part way through?

What are best practices to automatically (regular intervals) synchronize the full JCR state (content, components, ...) from (running) production system to developer/testing machines for testing and debugging?

Assume compiled Java stuff is matching on both systems. AEM Version 6.1 and above.

Custom Call is being aborted in Firefox and cancelled in Chrome

Hi team,

We have implemented custom tracking for the www.netapp.com top navigation. When we click on the top navigation the custom call is being aborted. Can you please let me know the reason?

1, Go to http://www.netapp.com/us

2. click on netapp.com/support/community links on the top

3. you can see the custom tracking is aborted

4. I can see this only when i test the tracking in firebug

5.It shows fine in Omnibug.

Can you please let me know what is the issue?

Dam update asset Workflow

Hi I am trying to create a workflow similar to Dam update asset as it's creating renditions using ImageMagick

 

Using the following code (code snippet from DamUpdateAsset)

but when i was trying to convert a .ai file to .jpeg it's says invalid parameter that meants it's not using IM. if check installation directories (c:/programfiles) there is no IM installation files

AEM dialog multi composite field collapse and expand option.?

I have a dialog content which as a lot of data to author, where the author needs to scroll a lot inside a dialog itself. i want to avoid the scrolling and to provide a collapse and expansion options at field level. Can any one guide me how i can achieve a Dialog widget level (multi composite field group) can be a collapse and expand at dialog level.?

If a visitor removes the cache/cookies( Ex: Chrome) and opens new browser (Ex: Firefox), does it calculate as a separate visitor or same visitor?

Embed Adaptive Forms in external website

Hey there. I am trying to take an Adaptive form and 'ship it off' to another web application to be provided within that application's UI in a container. AEM is used more as a service provider in our enterprise, not as a presentation layer, so an enterprise application which manages the web and security layers for our enterprise will look to be requesting the adaptive form from our AEM instance which in turn we need AEM to consume the request, prefill the Adaptive form with any XML provided by the caller, and then 'ship back' an adaptive form in the return so the caller can display the form for the user (and call AEM for any subsequent submitting and other features upon user action).

We understand how to view the Adaptive forms in AEM Sites and in the web portal, but frankly that isn't practical in our enterprise, as we aren't going to do 'double duty' maintaining 5000+ user accounts inside of AEM along with security protocols, etc, that's already handled by our enterprise security and web facing applications. It would also be a pretty poor user experience going from our external applications, then to AEM sites/portal, then back to the external apps, so we really need a good way to package the Adaptive form, let the caller present it, then let AEM handle the user action once they filled out the form.

Is this possible? Been racking my brain and have scoped the forums and help docs heavily, but haven't come up with a good solution...

Adobe Social Release Notes - May 2016

Hello -

Adobe Social 16.5.1.0 release that happened on 19th May 2016 (05/19/2016) includes the following fixes:

  • Fixed an issue that caused a "reply failed" message to display in Moderation when replying to a LinkedIn post.
  • Fixed an issue that caused inconsistent data between the Moderation Overview report and its downloaded report.
  • Fixed an issue in Publish Anywhere in which Adobe Social did not recognize a custom branded domain. This fix is for Publish Anywhere and not for Publisher and Content Calender.
  • Fixed an issue that caused duplicate email messages to be sent during the approval workflow.
  • Fixed an issue that caused users to receive email messages indicating failed campaign tracking.

Target Standard - multi-sourced audience

Hi,

I am trying to create new Audience based on two conditions: 
- Marketing Cloud Audience criteria
AND
-Target built-in rules (eg. Geo, Network or Browser).

I've tested both separately and each one work's fine.

How to mix these into one Audience?

Analysis Workspace Scheduled Reports Wrong Times

Hi all,

Struggling to get this issues identified and raised with Client Care so hoping to find other people in the same boat to get a bit of clout behind the issue, whenever I schedule a report in Analysis Workspace I always receive it 8 hours after the scheduled report time, is anyone else in the UK or on BST/UTC+1 also experiencing this issue? Similarly anyone in other time zones seeing reports arrive at wrong times?

XMLForm.exe terminated abnormally on Windows 2012 svr

We have a new installation of AEM Forms 6.1 / WAS 8.5 / DB2/ Windows 2k12 - it appears that the native forms service particularly is not firing up. initially found through a SOAP calling hitting a short lived process. Later confirmed using FormsIVS. Doesn't seem to be related to CORBA or missing libraries (like in UNIX environments) . Verified that the "D:\\IBM\\WebSphere\\AppServer\\profiles\\Base1\\installedApps\\adobe\\wasdev03\\XMLFormService\\bin\\XMLForm.exe" has complete access for the WAS user.

… because AEM Forms Designer offers a new target version for PDF's called "Acrobat and Adobe Reader 12". But, what new features brings it?

Also, the XML source states it uses the XFA version 3.6, but the latest specs I can find is XFA3.3. So, why there isn't any documentation and who knows, what has been changed since XFA 3.3?

How to delete (reset) Marketing Cloud Visitor ID?

Hi,

we are using MC Visitor ID Service + internal customer id  to identifiy customers.

We want to set up a welcome message for recignized customers somehow like Amazon  "Hi Michael, welcome back ... if you are not Michael click here"

If the users clicks on here, we want to reset the MC Visitor ID, as this is not the customer we have identified. 

My question: how should we reset the Visitor ID for Marketing Cloud? Just to delete the cookie AMCV and AMCVS? Or is there a method in Adobe Analytics?

How to Enable my report suite for Adobe Marketing Cloud

I was trying to publish my analityc segment to the AMC (target in particular) and I can not see the button "Publish to Marketing cloud" in the Adobe Analytic Segment Manager, I found in the doc that I need to enable my report suite for the Marketing Cloud (you can see the attached image). My question then was... How can I make my report suite available for the AMC ???????

cookieDomain and Visitor ID being reset

Hi,

I have setup cookieDomain with DTM. I am finding that the MID isn't always carried to the other domain and is reset with a new one. This includes the sdid.

Is this due to load order? IE: Cloud ID Service is done before the data element is available? Can I force it to wait?

Both domains are .com.au

Customer Attributes in Audience Manager

Hi,

I recently started playing with Customer Attributes available in Profiles & Audiences of Marketing Cloud. I've noticed that once my Customer Attribute Source is created an corresponding Data Source is created in Audience Manager.

Is it possible to create traits in AAM using that Data source, and then create Segment that can be used in Target ?

Let's imaging following scenario

  • Uploaded customer attributes
  • Created trait based on that attributes
  • Created segment based on above trait
  • Then use that Segment as Audience in Target

How trait can be build using that data source ? what variables I should used in trait expression ?

Then on the page my understanding of the implementation process is as follows:

  • Implemented visitor ID service that also sends customer ID (matching the customer attributes in marketing cloud)
  • Implemented Audience Manager and Target on the page.
  • Should I integrated AAM with Target through cookie ? Or it can be done server side (on marketing cloud) through Visitor ID ?
  • Should I send customer id data to AAM or combining it with Visitor ID is enough ?

Could you please advice ?

Doubt about targetPageParams and Ajax

Hi,

I am stuck in a specific scenario where I need to pass some parameters from AEM to Target. The problem is that those parameters are populated after an Ajax call, and I can't find the way to pass them. As they are only populated after Ajax success, I think that the only way those parameters will be populated is calling the function targetPageParams after the success.

I tried defining a function that contains targetPageParams, and calling it in the Ajax success event. My TargetPageParams function stopped working then (even thought it was working perfectly fine before the change). The parameters won't even appear in the Adobe Marketing Cloud Debugger. 

Is there any way to make this work?

Profile Script for IP range

Hello, 

We are creating an experience where our success metric is time on site.  We have content authors who spend a lot of time on the site reviewing articles and making edits.  We would like to block our content authors from being included into the campaign so the results are not screwed.  My thought was to create a profile script to determine IP address.  We would then use this script to create an audience that targets everyone but those ranges  Could someone please comment on how to set this up?

Segment experiences based on time of day

In Adobe Target Classic workflow, you had the ability to allow users into an experience based on the time of day.  It was configured as a segment option which could then be applied at either the experience level or campaign level.  Is this ability still part of the new Target Standard?  Is so, can any offer assistance on how to go about setting up an experience targeting campaign that changes based on Time of Day.  We have a product that is being promoted but is only available during certain time so we need to configure the message to align with that scenario.

Javascript Console window not available in HTML5 preview.

We have a lot of XFA forms with complex Javascript code. We used to use the Javascript Console Window (Ctrl-J) to debug the code. Now, under HTML5, I am unable to view the console window, and I cannot debug the code and find out what are the errors and exceptions.

Appreciate your feedback to let us know how to view the console window (Ctrl-J) under HTML5 preview mode, and if this is not possible, then how to troubleshoot Javascript code?

Audience Library - Audience types concerns..

Hi,
I'm wondering if someone could help me understand Audiences behaviour. Let's imagine I'd like to have an XT Activity in Target, where I'm using Audiences from Marketing Cloud.
For the sake of simplicity I'm gonna build XT just for one Audience based on Analytics variables.
I see two options:

  1. Build segment in Analytics based on historical data and share to Marketing Cloud.
  2. Create Marketing Cloud Audience based on Analytics reporting suite.

What I know is that in the first option, the created Audience that is shared, is visible in Audiences Library so I can use it to build my Target activity. However, the data are under collection process (up to 48h as far as I remember).
So simply after that collection period, the Audiences have build collection of MCIDs. So, when visitor visits the page (page supports Visitor ID), then my Target Activity immediately resolve proper Audience (thanks to the MCID) and proper Offer will be served.

As for the second option, I'm not actually sure because of three reasons.

  1. I understood from many Adobe documentations that I read, MC Audiences are likely real-time audiences. So, it would suggest that if visitor visits my page, then the Audience should be resolved immediately and proper Offer will be served.
  2. My understanding is also that, if Audience is build using Raw Analytics Data it would suggest it's going to be resolved only on the call to SiteCat. By that I mean:
    1. mbox call is at the Top of Page, whilst Analytics image call at the bottom of page
    2. so mbox will be the first call, no variables yet so the vistior will not be identified as my Audience (I'm assuming visit of new visitor)
    3. Analytics image call will be the last one, variables will be process by the MC and MCID will be assigned to my Audience, it means only next visit on the page will serve my proper Offer
  3. I'm also confused with the information available when creating MC Audience using Raw Analytics Data. After saving it still shows 'Collecting Data', does it mean it's doing similar collection as with the Audiences shared from Analytics ?

Does anyone could help me with understanding of that concepts ? First impression is that both types of Audiences could be infact 100% equivalents of each other.

Is Shopify coding benifial for SEO

Hi Guys

I built my site using Shopify and have been doing alot of SEO work. I have made a small climb in rankings but not as much as I would have liked.

Would the coding used by Shopify in some way be holding me back or do I just need to adapt a new SEO approach.

Adobe SME - Has AEM 6.1 closed the ability to extend SAML authentication class? SamlAuthenticationHandler

We had implemented custom SAML handler and with 6.1 this would make it tough for us to migrate/

Can i get an answer from Adobe Folks on this?
