What works well and makes you successful in one place, will not necessarily apply everywhere. But we like to repeat formulas.

Example: learning to make design decisions quickly & in a vacuum to ship products quickly on a small team. Bad for a very collaborative team

Example: defense mechanisms learned as a kid to keep from landing in the cross hairs of meaner kids make me unapproachable as an adult
