Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program is now available for online purchases

2

Last year Apple introduced its iPhone Upgrade Program as an easy way to get a new phone every 12 months, but you could only use it by walking into an Apple retail store. Now the program is available for online purchases, too, as noted by MacRumors. Pricing begins at $32.41 a month for the 16GB iPhone 6S; the plan is not available for the new (ish) iPhone SE, which is unlikely to be updated on a yearly cycle.

We called the iPhone Upgrade Program the best way to buy an iPhone 6S or 6S Plus last year. It's a 24-month instalment plan that includes AppleCare+ and gives you an unlocked phone that you're able to swap for a new one each year, resetting the payments; carriers have been trending toward this sort of scheme for a while, but Apple's offers some extra perks. It's also, of course, a way to encourage customers to upgrade more frequently than they otherwise might.
