This subreddit celebrates, well, everything science! That includes research, new discoveries, cool applications of science in the world, science policy, news, and videos and images of exciting scientific research and concepts. We welcome you to post anything relevant to science and scientific achievement so long as it’s not pseudoscientific or promoting a particular product or agenda. Please take a moment to read our rules on acceptable content before posting to ensure you, and everyone else, has an enjoyable experience on this board.

Submissions

All posts must be scientific in nature and maintain some level of scientific integrity. Posts that are unrelated to science, promoting pseudoscience or are unscientific in nature will be removed.

All links posted should have been published in the past 6 months. To clarify further, although the topic itself may be old news, the source discussing the topic needs to have been published in the past 6 months.

Links consisting of re-hosted content, such as articles or videos taken from their source and posted onto personal blogs or Youtube channels, will be removed. Submissions should link back to the original source of the content in question.

Posts may be any link format including videos, blogs, audio lectures, editorials etc. as long as the post is grounded in scientific literature or scientific discovery. If the source of the link is unreliable, the submission is subject to removal.

All link posts should have titles that clearly tell the reader what the content is. All posts with clickbait titles, titles that explain nothing about what is in the link, or titles that attempt to promote an agenda will be removed. Titles with severe editorialization will be examined on a case-by-case basis.

Submissions about the politics of science are permitted as long as they primarily relate to science.

Educational videos are encouraged as long as they are from a reputable source. Video links to science course lectures are not allowed.

Comments

Abusive, offensive or spam comments will be removed and repeated or malicious offenders may be banned.

While anecdotal evidence will not necessarily be removed, comments that are unscientific or promote pseudoscience without proper evidence will be removed. References to peer-reviewed papers in your comments will always be better received so always try to reference your comments.

Arguments that run counter to well established scientific theories (e.g., evolution, gravity, global warming) require a higher standard of evidence. Comments that are overtly fringe and/or unsubstantiated will be removed, since these claims cannot be verified in published papers.
