Erratic notification
**Please Note: Facebook is coming out with regular version 'updates' that don't have genuine fixes or improvements, but they do hide their bad ratings temporarily.**
This app has nagged me every day to rate the app, you want it so badly Facebook? Here it is: Sometimes the app will tell me I have a message, sometimes it will actually show me my new messages. More often it doesn't and I have to go into the website to get messages to actually load. The app performs at the same low level over various internet connections I've tried in different places. Where is the working Facebook calling feature that is being pushed as available, but doesn't actually work? If two people are online why won't it ever connect? This app needs lots of improvement of it's existing function before adding in new features. Make the app not perform so poorly. More updates and now we have 'stickers', which actually work, surprisingly. The notification and updating are still erratic at best.
New updates keep coming out yet there are no noticeable improvements to the app, which never needed to be separated from the main Facebook app.
Notification Problem
I just updated and there seems to be a problem with the notifications. When my screen is locked, it will light up for a second and doesn't preview the message. It also doesn't show up the pull down notifications section. I tired deleting the app and re-downloading it but it didn't solve the problem. This needs to be fixed immediately because I keep missing messages. This is a silly mistake for you guys to be making in my opinion, check your updates thoroughly before you release them to the public. Thank you.
Notifications not working on the latest update
Since updating to 71.0 yesterday I am not receiving sound or badge notifications on iOS 9.3.2. Sometimes I open Messenger and I have several new messages that were sent hours earlier and I was never notified. I have checked both the settings in my Messenger app and in the iOS notifications settings, and they are enabled in both places. I also completely deleted and reinstalled the app, being sure to select "Allow Messenger to send notifications," and it's still not working. Please fix this! I use Messenger for work and I really need to be notified when I'm messaged.
