Dear 3rd Congressional District Delegate,

Difficult circumstances necessitate difficult choices. Prior to my election as Chair of the UTGOP, I ran on a platform of restoring fiscal integrity, transparency, and accountability to the Party. I intend to keep those promises. Our new officer board has inherited significant debt, as well as a budget deficit. In addition to the approximately $130,000 in operating debt already known, and the $308,000 in legal debt, we’ve just learned that $30,000 remains unpaid from our Organizing Convention held two weeks ago at South Towne Expo Center. Conversely, the amount of money raised at that same convention was only $1,200; less than 50 cents per delegate.

The UTGOP needs to become self-reliant. In order to do so, our officer board has unanimously agreed to ask convention attendees to remit a registration fee. The lowest fee, nationwide, we are aware of is Arkansas at $79/person. Beginning with this convention, and going forward, we will ask convention attendees to help offset the significant cost of these events.

The suggested amount for the June 17, 2017 CD3 Convention at Timpview High School will be $20/person, if paid in advance, or $25/person if paid at the time of the event. This is not a mandatory fee, but rather, a highly encouraged donation. The deadline for on-line preregistration will be noon on Friday, June 16th. We do not want this to distract from the important business of selecting a ballot nominee. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time. By working together, we will Right our Party.
