Samuel Redman, author of Bone Rooms: From Scientific Racism to Human Prehistory in Museums, wrote at The Conversation about the controversial decision to rebury the 9,000-year-old skeleton known to some as the “Kennewick Man” and to the Native Americans who share his genetic material as “Ancient One.”
Viet Thanh Nguyen, author of Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War, spoke with Fresh Air’s Terry Gross about how his fictional account of the war in Vietnam compares with his own experience.

May 20: Creative Insurgency in the Arab World: In The Naked Blogger of Cairo, Marwan Kraidy builds on his decades of experience researching and writing about Arab media, culture, and politics to consider the ways in which people create rebellious art, attract public attention, and conjure new political imaginaries.
