Last week we spent 3 days/nights at the D. Being from Detroit, it was only fitting, especially for my 1st time in Vegas (gf's 2nd). We got a basic room which was almost near the end of the hallway. Our room was on the 12th floor. Everything was clean and spacious. After initially arriving, the cable for the tv wasn't working. Called the front desk and they had a tech come to our room within 15 minutes and had replaced the line and got everything working again. Great view from our room. We could see Slotzilla and people leaving the zipline. The mountains in the background were also great scenery. Can be a little noisy at night from music and entertainment outside. I'm sure floors higher up, it may not be as loud. Our room fan and our small personal fan helped drown out the noise. Would of liked a microwave for leftovers and a small fridge for drinks but wasn't a big deal. Elevators were fairly quick, awesome and different too. A couple times we had to wait for a minute or longer, not a big deal. Liked how you can enter your floor number at the keypad, and a elevator opens up and takes you straight to that floor. The parking garage we had no issues. Self parking starts on the 7th floor, the floors below are reserved for valet. We found a spot on the 8th and 9th floors each day/night. We had a Kia Soul which is a small SUV (rental). Driving up and down the garage can be a little tight, but do-able. You just have to take it slow and be careful around corners. Even after we checked out on our last day before noon, we were still able to keep our room keys and still use the parking garage until 5pm which saved us on parking. The D grill and Andiamos steak house were both fantastic. Lots of slots and tables on the 1st floor. Older/vintage slots, sigma derby horse racing on the 2nd floor, tons of tvs on both floors, waitresses were fairly quick with drinks. Staff was also friendly and helpful. We were trying to find The D grill and downstairs a staff member was cleaning and dropped what she was doing, took us up the escalator and walked us to the grill. That was really nice and appreciated, great customer service. Since we flew Spirit, they had a promo with the D if you spent $50 at the casino, you get $50 match play back. The match play is only allowed to be used at tables, no slots. We ended up getting $100 match play and eventually won some money playing roulette and blackjack. Overall, we had a great time at the D! When we come back and if we stay on Fremont street, we will stay at the D again. Highly recommended!
