New survey says 3D printing still dramatically underutilized in education

A survey carried out by Ysoft has reported that 87 percent of educators are restricting their students' access to their 3D printers. Various factors relating to cost and management of access mean that they have not been able to make the most of the technology.

Less than 10% of jobs threatened by 3D printing & automation, says French employment council

According to a recent report by France's Employment Policy Council, fears about job loss caused by 3D printing and other automated technologies could be unjustified. The report estimates that less than 10% of jobs will actually be threatened by automated technologies such as 3D printing.

Global spending for 3D printing industry to reach $28.9 billion by 2020, says IDC

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has just released an update for its Worldwide Semiannual 3D Printing Spending Guide. The new report projects that global spending on 3D printing will undergo a five-year CAGR of 22.3%, from $13.2 billion in 2016 to up to $28.9 billion in 2020.
