What's happening?

CodePen Ottawa's Sixth Meetup will address the importance of accessibility and what you can do to improve your code.

When I look at design what is it going to sound like?

Simply Accessible's Scott Vinkle is going to teach us common pitfalls in accessibility throughout HTML and web design. We're going to learn how our designs speak and the impact that has for our code and design thinking.

Why we care and how to get caught up. Scott will expand on stereotypical "fixes" by guiding us through common patterns using assisted technologies.

Shopify's Tetsuro Takara has conquered his fair share of accessibility challenges. He often writes about it here. For #CodePenOttawa's sixth meetup Tetsuro will be taking us through his experience making things better for everyone.

After these great talks we'll be opening up the floor for our favourite Code and Tell. Where you can show us anything. We've had a lot of great moments so far and we hope to encourage you to show us your Pens.

If this is your first #CodePenOttawa Meetup, come join a growing group of front end development friends where we share code, have great speakers, and always offer a place to learn and ask questions.
