Scientists figured out how to regenerate teeth and eliminate root canals

Root canals are always fun, right? In reality, word that you need a root canal is some of the worst news most people get at the dentist. Whenever your dentist tells you that’s the next procedure you’re going have to go through, two things are clear beyond the pain you’re about to endure: One, that your throbbing will finally soon go away, and the second is that the tooth that’s getting the root canal is dead.

However, researchers have come up with a new kind of biomaterial that not only encourages the natural regeneration of teeth, but also might eliminate root canal procedures for good. More →

Google’s full-disk encryption in Android can be hacked

We may have thought that Android is just as safe as the iPhone when it comes to encryption, but it looks like Google’s Android operating system has a critical flaw that can be exploited to decrypt a device. Even worse, while there are patches that can fix the issue, it seems that attackers can simply downgrade to a pre-patch state, and then decrypt a target device with ease. More →

Good riddance: Chris Evans leaves ‘Top Gear’

BBC thought it could continue to do the amazingly popular Top Gear show without the three hosts who actually made it popular. But the first reactions to the show were less than stellar, and the replacements were not able to deliver. In fact, they were awful. So we can’t say we’re totally surprised to hear that Chris Evans, the guy that should have replaced Jeremy Clarkson, is leaving the show. More →

This might be Microsoft’s most annoying Windows 10 upgrade prompt yet

Imagine this: you’re watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones on your Windows laptop or desktop, paying bills online, or you’re catching up with some work, and an annoying image appears taking over your entire screen. Your computer is safe, your documents have not been lost. It’s just Microsoft being even more annoying than ever with its Windows 10 upgrade notifications. More →

Jon Snow Real Name

Is this Jon Snow’s real name?

Is this Jon Snow’s real name?

Last summer, the main topic of conversation for Game of Thrones fans was Jon Snow’s upcoming resurrection. The closer we got to winter, the clearer it became that Jon Snow wasn’t dead. This year we’ve got yet another Jon Snow-related conundrum: who is Jon Snow? HBO closed its sixth season with a clear hint that Jon Snow is the son of Lyanna Stark. Then, out of the blue, it confirmed an old fan theory that Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen are his parents.

So the next thing we need to talk about is Jon Snow’s real name. Thankfully, a diehard Game of Thrones fan has a sound theory about that. More →

Han Solo movie has the best Star Wars script ever, Star Wars insider says

Han Solo is the Star Wars character who got many people hooked to the saga. He’s got some of the best lines in the original trilogy, but also in The Force Awakens, and we all hated seeing him die — which further proves his huge influence on Star Wars movies. Kylo Ren needed to kill Han Solo though, so that we all take him seriously as a villain.

With all that in mind, we have high expectations for the standalone Han Solo story that’s going to hit theaters in 2018. And someone says the Han Solo movie might have the best Star Wars script ever. The only problem with that statement is that it comes from a person who has to say these sorts of things… More →

Check out all the exciting new tech coming to your next laptop

Apple keeps telling us that iPad is the future of computing, and that may indeed be the case. The iPad Pro can certainly replace a laptop for many of our daily computing needs, but laptops are still the better choice when it comes to work. MacBooks are still setting the tone in the business, while Windows 10 is allowing OEMs to offer users exciting 2-in-1 notebooks that operate both as a tablet and a laptop. While sales aren’t what they used to be for most notebook makers, this year’s generation of laptops are shaping up to be more exciting than ever. More →

Apple has a brilliant way to make one-handed iPhone use great again

Remember how Apple used to make a big deal about the iPhone being the only smartphone that you could easily operate with one hand? It was a constant argument against increasing the iPhone’s screen size. But the company eventually launched iPhones that have displays bigger than the four-inch screen Apple used for years, and one-hand operation isn’t as easy.

Apple created a new home button gesture called Reachability (image above) that’s helps, but some people rarely use it. The company now has an even better idea for fixing one-hand operation on the iPhone, which might be better than shrinking down the display, as Samsung does it on some of its flagships.

Best thing about Google’s 2016 Nexus phones: They’ll finally copy the iPhone properly

For the first time in its history, Google launched two new Nexus handsets last year including the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P, copying Apple’s new iPhone launch strategy. But Google didn’t get it right on the first try. Thankfully, it looks like things are about to change thanks to a big new update – assuming the latest Nexus leaks are accurate, that is. More →

The Space Black iPhone 7 pictured here couldn’t possibly be any hotter

Apple is rumored to launch the iPhone 7 in a new color this year. After last year’s rose gold iPhone, we’re going to get either a blue or black new option this year, according to reports that are yet to be confirmed. Designers are having a field day with these rumors, creating all sorts of 3D renders of the blue or “Space Black” iPhone 7. Martin Hajek, one of our favorite artists when it comes to creating images of unreleased Apple devices based on the latest rumors, has his own take on a black iPhone 7. More →
