2015 WISE Prize for Education!!

The Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) rebuilds education and health systems in Afghanistan through its holistic approach that combines innovative education, healthcare with health education and quality training programs. AIL benefits all needy people (70% female). It is an Afghan organization run mainly by women, that seeks to help all Afghans rebuild their lives and society through transformation at the individual and community level.

Founded by Dr. Sakena Yacoobi in 1995 to address the need for quality education and health care, AIL has always been holistic in its approach and innovative in its programming. AIL has received praise both nationally and internationally, and most importantly it is trusted by the Afghan people.

AIL provides education at its Learning Centers in academic and skills classes.

 AIL is helping to revive traditional Afghan arts and culture.

 AIL offers teacher training  and training  in subjects such as: human rights, leadership,peace and democracy.

Health education and health care is given at AIL clinics, mobile outreach units and Community Health Workers Posts.
