Sketchfab Labs and Fritures
"Fritures" (some Franglais wordplay) are the Sketchfab team's fun, Friday afternoon projects. There are experiments, API hacks, cool plugins, and more. A few are complete pieces of software, most are works in progress or proofs of concept. Enjoy!
Cardboard VR
Google’s Cardboard project has inspired a revolution toward inexpensive virtual reality for the masses. We’ve created our own Sketchfab Cardboard – it’s cheaper, lighter, and can be used to view any Sketchfab model in VR. All it takes is an additional parameter in the query string of a model embed URL: /embed?cardboard=1
If you’ve got a Cardboard or another VR device, take it for a spin.
Sculptfab
Sculptfab is a free, web-based sculpting tool based on Stéphane Ginier's SculptGL. You can create a model right in your browser and publish straight to your Sketchfab account. Start with a ball of “clay” and sculpt away! The robust toolset includes Inflating, Cutting, Smoothing, Painting, and more – with tons of customization options like radius and intensity – as well as useful properties like Symmetry. Great for sculpting characters, and no software required! Check out some work from the community.
Paintfab
First conceived as an Easter Egg Painter, Paintfab lets you upload any mesh (OBJ, PLY, STL), paint it in 3D, and publish it to Sketchfab (or download it for yourself). The possibilities are endless: customize game assets, paint your dream car, create a contest, whatever you like… It’s extremely accessible and easy to use – available to anyone with just a web browser.
Bulk Uploader
This is a simple desktop app built with NW.js (node-webkit). It has drag-and-drop functionality to bulk upload models to your Sketchfab account. Windows version coming soon!
Use a Google Spreadsheet as a bulk model uploader with metadata (name, tags, etc.)
Viewer API: Annotation Sync
You can display your own content outside the viewer, synchronized with Annotation navigation. Source.
Augmented Reality (AR)

A Google Chrome plugin that allows re-using a collection of post-processing filters and material settings. We also have a userscript that allows saving and managing your own presets. This has been expanded by community members to include Material presetsSee the forum for details.
Screenshot Generator
Take a screenshot of your model's current view and save it.
GIF Generator

Ooops, I realize that in my 1st comment I mentioned Augmented Reality instead of VR... Sorry for the confusion!
Ah, interesting! Cool idea :)
Hello guys, I'm new to this website, would you mind telling me how to get started on the animating? : )
Hello? Is anyone online? HELLO?!
@jacksepticeye - Hi! The Forum is the best place to ask for help from the community: http://forum.sketchfab.com/
How do I Get going to animation?
@xxjackkillerxx - Sorry I don't understand your questions. What are you trying to do?
Hi, How could I do something similar like the Apple watch scene? I have a 3-storey building model, and I'd like to add 3 buttons so that people can switch between the floors (all the 3 floors are included within the same model, with some distance between them on Z axis). How could I achieve this?
Hi @urbanid3d - also answered on the forum ( https://forum.sketchfab.com/t/annotations-list-building-floors/8251 )
You'll want annotations or the Viewer API
