Shared publicly -New ways to keep data flowing between your apps and ours
While we've moved past paper clips and passing memos around the office, today's business world still isn't as seamless as it could be. Think about the different apps we use and those highly-repetitive tasks: copy-and-paste from a CRM app to a slide deck, manual export of data from a project management app just to enter it into a spreadsheet. It's the digital equivalent of pushing paper. To this end, we're announcing APIs for Google Sheets, Slides, and Classroom to make it easier for your users to move data between your apps and ours.
The new Sheets & Slides APIs give you programmatic access to powerful features found in these products. As a result, your apps can perform a variety of tasks tying app data together: creating rich workflows that move data from your app into (and out of) Sheets, and producing polished slide decks from source data that are ready to present. Linked charts allow for easy updates in Docs and Slides when the data changes.
Finally, edtech developers will benefit from the new coursework capabilities in the Classroom API, giving you programmatic access to assignments and grades in Classroom and allowing deeper integrations with learning tools and student information systems.
We hope that these new features enable new tools coming from enterprise and educational software developers and can't wait to see what you build with them!
