Not good enough
The app lacks all of the exciting features, like the baseball game, chat colours and so on, that comes with the messenger app on pc Win10, on android and on IOS. That plus the fact that the app is far from instant and takes a lot of time load the threads, even when connected onto a fast WiFi, makes the app poorer than acceptable in 2016!
MoreGreat Progress On A Simple Facebook Necessity
I have been a huge fan of the Facebook Messenger update, ever since it was made available a little while ago. I really like the simplistic design, because it doesn't try to excessively surprise users with new, and distinct features. It works really well, and it constantly keeps me updated when I am speaking to friends through Facebook. My only criticism is that it could be better by providing a much more integrative Windows 10 design, or by changing the layout of the entire application. I feel as though it reminds me too much of Apple's iOS, especially on a Windows platform. Overall, this is definitely a much needed update to the Facebook array of applications.
MoreSignificantly better than the Facebook app, but...
I'm very happy with it so far, but I have two issues with it: 1. You can't send more than one picture at once, even though you can select multiple. 2. If I open the app after having chatted on the phone app, it never loads the messages it "missed" until I log out and back in, but I can send/receive new messages. Otherwise, it's great so far.
Moregood start missing features
No way to call stands out. no way to share to messenger from other apps.. Also all the settings for a chat ( photos shared , group membership etc ) are buried. no option to pin contacts or groups to start
MoreNice app
Fast and easy just add lock screen
MoreI love it!!!!!!
I love this app cuz its more easy n it keeps me connected with my family and friends aboard.... looking forward for it to be better in the future times to come... loving it makes it soooo great and handy to use lol I love the stickers they are so awesome n cute all together... this app is so affordable.... n loving it more...
MoreThis app functions. Messages send, emojis work, stickers function. But its not nearly up to the level the Android and iOS versions are. It's also often very volatile: Not connecting, delayed notifications, and at times not opening at all requiring a reinstall. The most frustrating part is that the Facebook app requires you to message using this app; so you can't message through Facebook when this app acts up.
MoreGetting worth and worth... there's no auto update to profiles, missing messages from every conversation, line error between load lines, missing conversations like after 06/05 the next is from 4 years ago... Crashing, freezing, black screen all the time, way too slow when finally loads. After a few years, it's time to give up on WP.
Morethey should not force you to use messenger with FB
as of the other day FB updated and now must use messenger for it on windows FB app. this should be a option not a force to use issue. with this forced action I may just remove the FB app and with my options being limited makes me just want to remove FB altogether. this is how these companies lose members...
MoreAwesome (but old)
I love the app on wp8.1 but since upgrading to win10 it feels somewhat dated. I'm really waiting on the UWP version which I hope will also get it back to feature parity with the other platforms, solve its battery drain problem and just make it snappier/more like the native Messaging app. It makes sense that Facebook dropped support for it when it did based on the fact that win10 and UWP were announced, I guess, so I'm not going to bash it for falling behind. For the time it's been actively supported, features were coming (well, catching up) at a decent rate. I'm assuming this will once again be true once the UWP version is out, so there you go. 5 stars and thanks, Facebook! PS: Would be lovely if you could update the live tile and lock screen icon count once I swipe messages away in the action center and generally take advantage of all the neat notification features in UWP :)
