Características

O Polylang permite a você criar um site bilíngue ou multilíngue em WordPress. Você escreve posts, páginas e cria categorias e tags como de costume, e então define o idioma para cada um deles. A tradução de um post, esteja ele no idioma padrão ou não, é opcional.

  • Você pode usar quantos idiomas quiser. Idiomas com escrita RTL também são suportados. Pacotes de idiomas do WordPress são baixados e atualizados automaticamente.
  • Você pode traduzir posts, páginas, mídias, categorias, tags, menus, widgets…
  • O plugin suporta tipos de post personalizados, taxonomias personalizadas, posts fixos e formatos de post, feeds RSS e todos os widgets padrão do WordPress.
  • O idioma é definido pelo conteúdo ou pelo código do idioma na URL, ou você pode usar um domínio ou subdomínio diferente para cada idioma
  • Categorias, tags e outros metadados são automaticamente copiados quando uma nova tradução de post ou página é adicionada
  • Um seletor de idioma personalizável é fornecido como widget ou no menu de navegação

O autor não fornece suporte no fórum wordpress.org. Suporte e recursos adicionais estão disponíveis ao usuários do Polylang Pro.

Se desejar utilizar um serviço de tradução profissional ou automático, você pode instalar o Lingotek Translation, como um adicional ao Polylang. Instalação

  1. Certifique-se de estar usando o WordPress 4.0 ou mais recente e que o seu servidor esteja rodando o PHP 5.2.4 ou posterior (mesmo requisito do próprio WordPress)
  2. Se você testou outros plugins multilíngues, desative-os antes de ativar o Polylang, caso contrário poderá obter resultados inesperados!
  3. Instale e ative o plugin como de costume no menu ‘Plugins’ do WordPress.
  4. Acesse a página de configuração de idiomas e crie os idiomas que você precisa.
  5. Adicione o widget ‘seletor de idioma’ para permitir que seus visitantes troquem o idioma.
  6. Observe que o seu tema deve vir com os arquivos .mo correspondentes (o Polylang baixa automaticamente os arquivos disponíveis para temas e plugins neste repositório). Se o seu tema ainda não está internacionalizado, por favor consulte o Theme Handbook ou peça ao autor do tema para internacionalizá-lo.
