Waze Helps Central Texas Drivers Beat Traffic

The traffic-addled residents of Austin, Texas can look forward to some extra assistance with their morning commute, thanks to a new partnership with Waze and KVUE, ABC's local TV news affiliate in the area.

Traffic is one of Austin's biggest problems and we're thrilled be doing our part to help the local community beat the gridlock!

Tapping into the power of Austin's drivers, KVUE's Traffic Trooperz will now be using Waze to help drivers avoid the bad spots on their daily commute with real time insights into what's going on in the road. In a special on-air interview, Waze's Michal Habdank-Kolaczkowski explains how just driving with Waze on is enough to contribute traffic data and how seriously we take safe driving with our special voice activated features.

KVUE is the latest to join up with Waze's broadcast partner program. Other partners include local TV stations in big U.S. metros such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and Philadelphia.

Would you like to see Waze power your local TV traffic reports?

Coming at You Live & Direct from ABC7 in the Bay Area

Hey Wazers-

We've got some pretty exciting news for you bay area-based TV watchers out there. Ok, so that might be a little specific for most of you, but if you find yourself getting excited regardless of your locale or which side of the TV-watching fence you sit on, then just go with it. Why?

Because Waze is coming at you live and direct from ABC 7 in San Francisco! That means more reports, better traffic data, and being able to talk about Waze with the general public and have them know what you're talking about. Take a looksie:

Thanks to all our Wazers out there...wishing you the happiest of new years!

Waze is Coming to TV Stations Near You!

GOOOOOOOOD MOOORNING Wazers!

It's true that you might prefer to hear that from your witty, attractive, out-of-your-league morning traffic reporter. Well good news, because as of today, there's a good chance you will.

That's right, you heard it here first: Waze is officially partnering with ABC & BELO stations nationwide to be a part of the morning traffic! First cities up are San Francisco, Philadelphia, Dallas, & Los Angeles.

What does that mean for you? No more sitting on the sidelines! Join your local news station's traffic group e.g. ABC7 Traffic Watchers in LA, or WFAA Traffic Spotters in Dallas, and you could have your report read live on TV! That same traffic reporter might even say YOUR NAME. #SomeDreamsAreForReal

And remember- if you want your morning news to start using Waze, then send them a letter, call them, tweet them. Tell them to check out www.Waze.Tv (nifty, eh?)

We're just happy to deliver your morning awesome.

Waze brings 'citizen traffic' to NBC 2 online's traffic reports

Happy to announce a partnership we've developed with NBC 2 News Online, out of Florida. The folks over there have  implemented a new concept into their broadcasts called 'citizen traffic' - road reports from waze users in the area, extracted from the app and used to further enhance their live traffic reports.

Click the above image to be taken to the video announcing NBC 2's collaboration with us for the first time on the air. We're pretty excited about the exposure and hope to partner with other local stations, as well. Stay tuned for those announcements, but in the meantime, you wazers out there in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Naples, Florida, make sure you're reporting during the local rush hour for your chance to be a star!
