We loved our visit to the bar at Caffe Florian on our last night in Venice. We actually just stopped in on our way back to the hotel and went to the back of the restaurant to the bar. Mauro was the bartender and made us feel very welcome. He also made the best martini I've ever had. He gave us samples of some other classics including a true Venetian spritz made with Select. Sitting at the bar also saved us a bit of euro as the drinks are less expensive than table service. We will definitely be back to Venice and the Florian! Wonderful Venetian hospitality.

Complimenti a tutto lo staff. Molto gentili e il tutto molto ma molto buono. Da segnalare un baccalà mantecato spettacolare !!!! Ritorneremo sicuramente

What an amazing place. Everything is so perfect from the tea time to the food and service. We ordered Quiche and it was delicious! The juice is so overpriced though and came pre-packed. But other than that what a place full of history, elegance and charm.

Quite possibly the most romantic hotel I've ever stayed in. Stunning and sexy design with an ambience that suggests you were now a member of a private and slightly decadent club. Loved every second there and can't wait to return.

Outstanding service and quality. Some of the nicest views over the canal whilst sipping some of the finest wines.

I absolutely loved everything about my stay.. My experience couldn't have been any better I'm looking forward to going back and staying a little longer now that I know it is such a great property.. The staff is great and helped us in everything we needed during our stay.. Dallo splendore della facciata esterna che si può ammirare nell'attesa di entrare e che prepara alla bellezza ed all'armonia dell'opera d'arte si " passa" nella dimensione tutta medievale della spiritualità e del giusto senso di essere creatura rispetto al Padre Creatore. Sebbene lo sguardo si perde verso l'alto a ricercare le figure ed i colori in realtà si alza lo sguardo verso Dio.

...un ambiente polifunzionale dove si torna sempre volentieri , la mostra di Ghirri è stata interessante ma ho anche approfittato per rivedermi l opera di Schiavone !

Una magnifica esperienza gradevolmente addolcita dalla presenza delle opere di Constantin Brancusi , scultore romeno . L'unica nota negativa -la voce guida ( penso sia quella del direttore del museo) che secondo me dovrebbe essere in italiano puro e non .....con forte cadenza... straniera. D'altronde siamo in Italia.

L'ho sempre considerata una delle mie collezioni preferite! Un luogo magico dove il reale si fonde con l'immaginario.

Locals and those who regularly visit Venice may not enjoy being around during this time of the year but we have much enjoyed visits during the Carnival holiday period held year. This years event will take place between 23 January and 9 February 2016. What we enjoy most about visits during this time of the year is the festive environment. There is always a outdoor stage with evening performances at St. Mark's Square. Other smaller squares around Venice host events and small markets during Carnival as well. Throughout Venice you will also see participates dressed in lovely traditional Carnival costumes and masks, posing for you to take pictures. You can do find them all day long around St. Mark's, Doges' Palace and the area around Riva degli Schiavoni. Note: Hotels are very pricey during Carnival so try to reserve your hotel rooms well in advance. We have also found trains departing Venice to be quite busy during our past Carnival period visits. Probably best to reserve rail tickets in advance during this time of year. Note: If you want to buy Venetian masks, they are for sell everywhere in Venice. Cheap souvenir quality masks are found at kiosks setup near popular tourist spots or in the endless souvenir shops. If you want higher quality masks, seek out shops like Atelier Marega. Note: There is a dedicated Carnival of Venice website which provides general information as well details on events and activities during the holiday period. This is always worth studying up before visits during the holiday period.
