I am Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before that, I was a Faculty Fellow in Philosophy at NYU. I did my graduate work at Yale (PhD, 2015) and before that at Oxford (BPhil, 2010).
I work primarily in epistemology and in the theory of normativity (construed broadly to include both metaethics and theories of reasons and rationality). I also have research interests in related parts of philosophy of language and mind, first-order moral and political philosophy, and the history of philosophy.
I also enjoy writing about philosophy and other topics for a lay audience.
