Having to constantly assert yourself or log your output feels forced... How do you find a balance when you want to be taken more seriously?

I'm exhausted with people's perception of your work/output being the measure of your worth. What if you aren't as liked, assertive, etc.?

I have to constantly remind people of great work I've done. It just feels exhausting to not have that acknowledged in the first place.

Give people credit where it's due. Don't erase their accomplishments.

On top of feeling undervalued for unpaid emotional labour, I also feel that way about the *actual* work I do as a software engineer.

I feel guilty for feeling this way given there are bigger problems going on in the world :/

So when we talk about sanctuary cities, who is it that we think deserves protection? And why do we draw a line at black people?
