Posting Rules
Rule 1: This is /r/Militaryfaq, not SRS. Be civil with others, but also don't forget to have thick skin. This is NOT the place to be edgy or whiny. THIS REDDIT IS HEAVILY MODERATED. This is not /r/military and incorrect, off topic, or pointless replies will be removed. The point of this reddit is to answer questions accurately.
Rule 2: Do not post any content which violates OPSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, PERSEC (or PII), and do not post or ask about anything classified. If a mod locks a thread that is not an invitation to start PMing said mod to argue or disagree further. That may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
Rule 3: No calls for witch-hunts or "vigilante justice," keep the pitchforks in storage.
Rule 4: No asking for money or advertising. We can make exceptions for non-profit organizations, but please send us a message before posting.
Rule 5: Avoid all political/religious discussions and soapboxing on threads unless it's directly related to military and even then we ask that you keep it civil.
Rule 6: No blogspam or clickbait articles. Give us a link from a reputable source instead.
Rule 7: No Reposts. Check the new queue before you post. Recent reposts will be removed.
Rule 8: Don't lie to your recruiter. No posts or comments encouraging you to lie to your recruiter or on the SF86.
Rule 9: Anyone claiming to be something they are not, which includes flair posing, will be banned. If you're a recruit or cadet, use that available flair.
Rule 10: No Meme posts. Try /r/militaryraging for your comics.
Rule 11: This reddit is specifically made for asking questions. Making fun of people asking questions will be heavily discouraged. Poking fun at clueless people can be done in /r/military, but we will hold users to a higher standard here in /r/militaryfaq.
Rule 12: Anyone giving out flagrantly incorrect information will be summarily banned from /r/militaryfaq. If you do not know what you are talking about, then do not post or try to give advise. Vets keep in mind that the way things worked when you were recruited may not be the way things currently work.
Note: The /r/militaryfaq moderators reserve the right to moderate the subreddit how we see fit for the good of /r/militaryfaq. Just because a rule is not listed does not mean we cannot enforce it (i.e., promoting terrorism, racist comments, etc.).
