Some of the old 'wharfies' that used to work here would be horrified to see all of the luxury boats that are now moored at Docklands, on the fringe of Melbourne's CBD. Much has changed over the past thirty years, as high-rise apartments and hospitality businesses have claimed this once industrial area as their own. I am pleased that some of the old bollards that held up the former piers have been kept, albeit with white pointed caps, that now make them an art installation, instead of their once practical use. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

I returned to the old Nimmons Trestle Bridge on the Ballarat to Skipton rail trail a week or two back. My previous visit was in 2013 with an early morning sky, but this time it was very late on an autumn afternoon. I walked down the track next to the bridge and found the Woady Yaloak Creek at the bottom which only had a small trickle of water in it. The golden light on the bridge and the abutment was fantastic at this time of the day, which provided me with a completely different scene from the previous visit. (2421)
