Mollom FAQ

On Thursday, 1 October 2015, Acquia is ending support for the Content Moderation Platform (CMP) feature of Mollom, which was originally added as a feature in 2013.

Why is this happening

While this feature was added to assist users in moderating site content aggregated from multiple sites, we found that most of our users continued to moderate their content directly within Drupal or their native content management system. As a result, adoption and use of CMP has been minimal.

As a result, on Thursday, 1 October 2015, we will retire CMP to focus our efforts on continued development of Mollom's core comment blocking and moderating technology.

I’m a current Mollom user. Why can’t I access CMP?

In anticipation of CMP's retirement, CMP is no longer being offered to Mollom subscribers as of June 2015. Users who had not adopted CMP prior to June 2015, or who became subscribers after June 2015, will not be offered CMP.

I’m a current user of CMP. How long will it be available?

CMP will be available until Thursday, 1 October 2015. After October 2015, CMP will no longer be accessible.

Is there any action required on my part?

If you are currently using CMP to moderate your content, you will need to to moderate your content directly within Drupal or through your native content management system. If your website uses Drupal, you can log in to Drupal and moderate comments in the Content administration (site path) area. If you are using WordPress or directly accessing the Mollom API for your website, you will need to moderate comments using equivalent mechanisms in those systems. For additional information on moderating content for sites on the Acquia Cloud platform, see our article, Moderating Website Content.

Are there other retirements coming soon?

For more information on upcoming Acquia retirements, see Acquia's Software end-of-life schedule.

I have some additional questions and concerns. Who can I contact?

If you have any questions about this or any other maintenance, you can contact the Mollom Support team for more information.
