Becoming a Unicorn shouldn't be the measurement of success that every entrepreneur strives for, but encouraging to see the increase in female-founded ones nonetheless:

If women played an identical role in labor markets to that of men, as much as $28 trillion, or 26%, could be added to global annual GDP by 2025. Gender inequality is therefore not only a pressing moral & social issue but also a critical economic challenge.

Reflecting on our session on at . Each of us in tech/startup community can & must play a role, in order to achieve them by 2030. Many great solutions out there, eg. (Goal 6) or (Goal 10) - need to put idle capital to work to help scale.

Really , 13 men speaking in a row in the opening session with not one single woman?! There are so many incredible female and diverse leaders in your tech community (some of whom are thankfully talking later), there's no reason for not being 50/50.

Where are all the female engineers? 'We have to not only work hard to attract more women into tech, but work hard to retain them. Key: Culture. It's really hard if you always feel different in a room. You need to create teams where everyone feels welcome.'

We need to give social entrepreneurs and NGOs room to pivot and iterate, take risks, and yes, even fail, to then find the best solutions and paths forward. We need to be honest about what works, and share what doesn't.

To your question of efficiency: Foundations and corporates can use their philanthropic capital to more quickly and efficiently work with NGOs to prove out a model than a govnt can (ie in education), - but govnts are essential to then scale the solution.
