A strong confident message being sent loud & clear by over 1000 Irish citizens. The disaster that is Brexit must not be allowed to damage the north & Irish citizens, all citizens here, must never again be left behind by an Irish government.

Just visited in Centre Mas d’Enric prison. She was president of Catalan Parliament and is imprisoned awaiting show trial that could lead to 25year sentence for the audacious crime of respecting the mandate of her MPs. EU cannot accept this injustice!

Catalan Political Prisoners must be released & the EU must support this demand. My message after meeting Catalan reps who face up to 25 years in jail because they allowed citizens to vote.

It was an honour to meet with the families of Catalan political prisoners this evening in Barcelona; some of them had just returned with their kids from prison visits. Thanks to Catalan Foreign Minister for hosting.

So, arrived in Barcelona for my first visit to Catalonia. Unfortunately it’s short and will be spent meeting political prisoners whose crimes amount to allowing citizens to vote. Amazing that more attention is not focused on Spanish authorities responsible for this injustice.

James McClean should not be the only footballer who doesn’t wear a . Especially Irish footballers. Why should we remember those who were involved in murdering innocent civilians? The other players need to step up and show solidarity. The PFA should call for an opt in poppy
