Astronomers have detected a candidate planet circling the star Proxima Centauri, a dim red dwarf that lies just 4.2 light-years from our solar system. The potential sibling world is Proxima c. But "potential" is the key word. | @SPACEdotcom buff.ly/2UAZwFG pic.twitter.com/hOoAiS2MFb

“Given that the majority of the biological and human health variables remained stable, or returned to baseline, after a 340-day space mission, these data suggest that human health can be...sustained over this duration of spaceflight,” Twin Study concludes. buff.ly/2UO17HI pic.twitter.com/Dtuyjp1KP0

That it is "jettisoned trash bag" or jett bag. It is full of trash, but there is no confirmation that it contained human excrement. There are a lot of those bags up there apparently, though, and some of them surely did have human refuse.

Are brown dwarfs failed stars or super-planets? The star ν Ophiuchi in the Milky Way is being orbited by two brown dwarfs, which in all probability formed along with the star from a gas and dust disk, just as planets do. | @physorg_space @HeidelbergU buff.ly/2Gdcwsm pic.twitter.com/chTnRhVeIc

Yesterday, astronomers of the #EHTblackhole collaboration revealed the 1st picture of a black hole in the galaxy named M87. Last night from my garden in San Francisco, I used my eVscope to observe the host galaxy in the Virgo constellation. Here the supergiant elliptical galaxy. pic.twitter.com/dbKVHJGMzI

Widely wandering bodies such as the odd, needle-shaped 'Oumuamua commonly seed nascent planetary systems, a new study suggests. Such visitors likely serve as scaffolds, allowing alien worlds to take shape much faster than they otherwise would. @SPACEdotcom buff.ly/2U1Bajb pic.twitter.com/IO8O2GITKr
